DS9 Protesters “Just a Bunch of People Having Fun Blowing Up Ships and a Space Station”

DS9 (FNS) – Many starships have gathered near Deep Space Nine to protest the expulsion of Cardassians from Federation and Bajoran space.

It is claimed that the starships, some of which are Cardassian, are part of the Dominion invasion fleet although it is impossible to verify the origins of every vessel.

Conspiracy theories have been circulating that the Dominion is directly funding the Cardassian military and terrorists.

Phasers and photon torpedoes fire have been reported around DS9 and many Federation starships have been torched.

Cardassia’s Gul Dukat described the protesting starships as “overwhelmingly peaceful”.

The violence escalated when the Federation deployed a fleet and at least 2,000 mines.

According to ABC reporter Farc Brown, “If you move Federation forces in the wrong way, it’s going to turn what is just a bunch of people having fun blowing up ships and a space station into a massive confrontation between the Dominion and the Federation.”

Captain Benjamin Sisko, the commander of DS9, responded, “I’m not sure how something can be ‘overwhelmingly’ peaceful but let’s not forget the Dominion has infiltrated the Federation and rigged our elections. I’ll deal with them as I would deal with any terrorist or adversary—I didn’t hesitate to poison an entire planet.”
