More of the same, which is fine in itself, but the emotional resonance for the main characters and their relationships is insufficient.

Plotting can be better, but decent “girls with guns” action with genuinely lovable main characters.

Pacing is not bad but the antagonists are oversimplistic and the worldbuilding is clumsy.

It has a premise that is challenging for any writer, it has worthy themes, and it has some depth and emotional resonance without trying too hard.

Interesting enough premise but clumsy plotting. Visually cheap. It may work in a game but not so much as a 12-episode series.

So far, worldbuilding and plotting can be better but there is some intrigue.

Some characters still underutilized, but mostly looks good and enjoyable.

Decent sequel. Plot can be more complex, but solid production and visually excellent.

Not as strong as the first season. Pacing can be better but overall a moderately entertaining follow-up.

Intriguing enough premise but the plotting is a little clumsy. But still, solid performances and excellent production. In any case, it’s short so it is over quickly.

Decent story, structurally sound despite a few plot conveniences. Visually too inconsistent. But overall, still enjoyable.

Mostly looks good and mostly enjoyable.

Mostly a waste of time unless one loves the video games or genre, or for the sake of studying. Annoying lead character.

Moderately intriguing mystery-thriller. Nicely shot and edited. Nothing outstanding but that is not a bad thing as it does what it needs without drawing excessive attention.

Long-awaited sequel. Decent film in every respect. Plot progression can be better, but just grateful it’s here.

Amusing main character who has delusions of grandeur and wants to play hero. But he is actually very capable and what he thinks is a fictional cult is real. Moderately intriguing and entertaining comedy that mildly parodies the fantasy genre.

Follows the same template as the first film, which is fine in itself. It’s not bad but it is nothing special, so it comes across as an unnecessary sequel.

Action-based sequel. Generally looks and sounds good. Nice to see the characters again but as a sequel, the story lacks substance.

Dark steampunk zombie. Great worldbuilding, visuals and soundtrack. Decent pacing but too many plot conveniences.

Young woman finds data doll with her long-lost/dead sister’s memories. Generic/derivative sci-fi so far, but good art and production.

Not bad pacing. Inconsistent but nowhere near as bad as I anticipated despite the cheese and cringe.
