Dark and gritty CG anime film. Mostly looks good but the storytelling tries to be way bigger than it is and so comes across as cheap.

Lacks plot and focus. Has elements of action, thriller and drama, but manages to be none of them.

Very contrived way to get Arisu and Usagi back to Borderland. Well-produced but is more like an afterthought featuring material that should have been done in the first place.

Nothing spectacular but continues to be a well-produced and fun show with ridiculous action.

Good production but lacks an intriguing plot. There are a few cool scenes but not enough.

Released in 2019, these six short films were produced in association with 20th Century Fox after being selected as winners of the...

Despite being unconventional in a few ways, and there is some cool action which Jovovich sells pretty well, the overall execution still comes across as too cheap and cheesy.

As expected, the rendering and animation have improved. But still meh.

Mostly looks good. Doesn’t try as hard as Volume 1, which is a good thing, but nothing great apart from “Bad Travelling” and “Jibaro”.

Looks good enough with solid performances. But the initial pacing is too slow and the comedy falls flat.

Mostly looks good. Doesn’t try as hard as Volume 1, which is a good thing, but nothing special.

Dark sci-fi cyberpunk set in a vast, lifeless cityscape in the distant future. Looks good. Not a bad story. Solid worldbuilding.

An anthology that mostly looks good but most of the episodes try too hard.

Simple dark fantasy-horror: kill the bad guy with a sword and save the world. Looks great but it’s a bit flat.

A form of the superhero genre with “immortal” warriors. Tries too hard with action and grit, so it just comes across as bland cheese. Meh.

As before, good production, decent pacing and moderately entertaining. But conclusion is somewhat rushed. Not that I expected much to begin with.

Visually excellent. Intriguing premise. Entertaining enough military action-thriller with politics even if it is far-fetched.

Not the worst ever but unfocused and clumsy plotting and pacing with too many conveniences.

A decent follow-up to The Last Ronin. Does not have the same emotional impact but does not cheapen the work either. Nicely produced.

Nothing great but still interesting to see different Predators in different eras. If one walks into this without any expectations, then it can still be enjoyable.

Looks impressive as a noir action-fantasy thriller. But it tries too hard to be edgy with all the sex and violence and comes across as a bit too cheese.
