Seattle, WA – A woman who unknowingly went on a date with a vegan was in an awkward position about whether to order meat for her meal.
“I didn’t know he was going through his vegan phase,” said the woman, “and to be fair, he didn’t demand we go to a vegan café.”
Nevertheless, the woman, who loves eating meat, “wanted to be herself” even though she didn’t want to be “insensitive” to her date.
Her solution: “I ordered a beef burger from which the cow identifies as a mushroom,” she said. “I had to ask the waiter to check with the kitchen staff and, fortunately, they assured me that the cow was interviewed for its certification.”
The woman also ordered a salad.
