Film ● Mini-Review: The Equalizer 2

Title: The Equalizer 2

Director(s): Antoine Fuqua

Screenwriter(s): Richard Wenk

Released: 2018

Runtime: 2h 1m

The Equalizer 2

● Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) is a Lyft driver and goes around helping people by beating other people up, until a former colleague and friend is killed whilst on an investigation. Obviously, there is a conspiracy.

● The premise tries to go one up on the first film. Instead of thugs, McCall is going up against skilled operatives like himself. As such, his adversaries are as calculated as he is which provides some good action but also, paradoxically, takes away some of the energy and emotional satisfaction that the first film has.

● Overall, the pacing is still fine and it is still shot and edited well.
