DS9 (FNS) – After two years of border conflict between the Federation and Cardassia near Bajor, the Dominion has ruled out sending its Jem’Hadar troops to Bajor to support Cardassia.
Vorta Weyoun said that the Dominion officials discussed the matter and agreed that “there will be no Jem’Hadar troops in Bajoran space”.
This statement came after Gul Makron’s comments and the Federation’s response, warning that such a move would escalate the conflict.
On Tuesday, Gul Makron in a press conference mentioned the possibility of sending Dominion forces to Bajor. “The defeat of the Federation is indispensable to the security and stability of Cardassia,” he said. “There’s no consensus today with our Dominion allies to send in the Jem’Hadar but nothing can be ruled out.”
In addition to the Federation’s earlier warning, Starfleet Captain Benjamin Sisko issued a more explicit warning on Thursday.
“There has been talk about the possibility of sending Jem’Hadar into Bajoran space,” said Sisko. “Indeed, the Dominion has been bringing in Jem’Hadar troops through the wormhole for weeks, amassing its forces in Cardassia.
“They must understand we can mine the wormhole and use our quantum torpedoes on Cardassia Prime. Remember that I practically nuked Solosos Three with two of those.”
