Pennsylvania, PA – Jason Chan, a fifth grader at Slope View Elementary School, is typically forced to go to school even when he has a cold.
“Asian parents,” said Jason, “never believe you when you say you have a cold. ‘You only at 98.9 degree, so go to school!’ they’d say. It doesn’t matter how bad you feel.”
However, this week, he tried a different approach.
“I told them that my cold is as bad as surviving an assassination attempt,” said Jason.
He was then told by his parents that since he survived the assassination attempt, he can “suck it up and go to school anyway”. They did, however, offer to give him a lift.
