Papers Please?

There is apparently a COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card released by the DoD. It looks real enough as it can be found on the DoD website. The UK has released something similar. At a glance, both look like any other vaccination record card.

More importantly, the exact implications remain to be seen—that is, to what extent will this (and any of its future iterations) be used as a form of ID or “passport”. In its current form, neither looks sufficiently secure to serve as ID. These implications, of course, will not be limited to within each country that will issue these sorts of cards but also for international travel.

The American card, at least on the side shown in the photo, simply states, “Please keep this record card”. That in itself is normal. The UK version, however, goes further: “Make sure you keep this record card in your purse or wallet.” Hmm… interesting. Reads like it could serve as some sort of “passport”.

And yet, if you believe the media reports, Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove said, “No, that’s not being planned. I certainly am not planning to introduce any vaccine passports and I don’t know anyone else in government who is.”

Do you feel a tsunami of relief washing over you?

Either way, doesn’t really matter to those of us in the US. According to the Demoncrats, you don’t need any ID or passport to vote anyway. Apparently, you don’t even need to be alive.
