Country that Demolished Nuclear Power Plants Wonders Why It Has Power Outage

Officials of Spain and Portugal are baffled as to why they suffered massive power outages on Monday.

“I am pretty sure it had nothing to do with us demolishing our nuclear power plants,” said Retardo Izquierda of the Spanish energy ministry.

The weather bureau confirmed what everyone saw, that the weather in Spain “wasn’t bad” and that it was “sunny as usual”.

“There was plenty of sun for our solar panels,” added Izquierda, “which I am sure helped all our solar-powered torches and solar-powered electric cars… so I don’t really see a problem there.”

While some suspect a cyber-attack, Portugal’s grid operator said that it was caused by a “rare atmospheric phenomenon”.

“We normally don’t care what our peasant neighbors in Portugal think,” said Izquierda, “but I might have to agree that it was something in the air… like air, maybe.”

The Spanish government advised people to take a second siesta and not exert themselves or light candles to create more carbon: “If people breathe less, then maybe they’ll disturb the air less or something.”
