CDC Director Dr Rochelle Walensky tested positive for COVID-19 again on Sunday after having received five doses of the vaccine and completing a course of Paxlovid.
Although in isolation, Walensky addressed well-wishers. “I’m feeling fine,” she posted. “I just want to reassure all Americans that I’m actually aiming for the world record for the most vaccine doses received and to get infected. President Biden is at four doses, I think, so I can’t let him catch up.”
In response to rumors that she may be under arrest, Walensky answered, “I am still working from home, working very hard because we all know how hard people can work when they’re working from home. And like as if I’d admit I am under arrest even if it’s true.”
“But don’t worry, the vaccine boosters are safe and effective,” she added, “so I encourage Americans to get them.”
