Pacing is not bad but the antagonists are oversimplistic and the worldbuilding is clumsy.

It has a premise that is challenging for any writer, it has worthy themes, and it has some depth and emotional resonance without trying too hard.

Looks great but two of the main characters are annoying and the plot lacks substance.

In a world where magical abilities are the norm, a non-magical guy uses his supreme physical strength. Action-packed. Simple and crude mild parody. Still enjoyable.

The mains characters split up so this season can feel unfocused, but this is mitigated somewhat by the quick pacing. Visually, it saves the budget for set pieces in the latter half of the season.

Slice-of-life fantasy romance and coming-of-age story. Moderately arty, mostly looks great. Short and simple, but too simple.

Entertaining series. Some visual elements are a bit jarring but generally well-produced. It is funny, but can be funnier. Tries a little too hard to be edgy. Grounded by the friendship between the two lead characters.

Back to (mostly) anime. More consistent than the previous two seasons.

Even for those who are not fans of fantasy, Pratchett’s easily accessible style and clever comedy make his novels a real pleasure to read.

Boy and his mother in an online fantasy game. Crude but not as superficial as one may expect. Fails to reach its potential as both the comedy and themes can go further. But motherhood is lifted up and celebrated.
