Student Submits Blank Report, Fails

An engineering student has failed his final year project after handing in his 150-page report.

“The report was submitted on time. It was bound properly and all pages were numbered,” said Professor Watson, “but otherwise every page is blank.”

The student claimed that the redactions were necessary as the project was a collaboration with the defense department.

Professor Watson, however, disagreed.

“We have an understanding with our industry partners regarding confidentiality and therefore students need not redact anything,” said Watson. “Besides, he didn’t even put ‘This page is blank’—I mean, we’re not the CDC or the medicine faculty!”

The student has since considered enrolling in medical school but the faculty has rejected his application on the grounds that blank reports are limited to 148 pages.
