This is not an apology for whoever is currently at Rome as that is another topic in itself, but rather for authority conceptually, including the papacy. As usual, the matter is not that complicated. Amusing main character who has delusions of grandeur and wants to play hero. But he is actually very capable and what he thinks is a fictional cult is real. Moderately intriguing and entertaining comedy that mildly parodies the fantasy genre.

Some things progress too quickly and too many conveniences, but still a moderately enjoyable sequel.

Entertaining series. Some visual elements are a bit jarring but generally well-produced. It is funny, but can be funnier. Tries a little too hard to be edgy. Grounded by the friendship between the two lead characters.

If you like the novel, then don’t expect too much. Christoph Waltz carries the show but the corporate and office satire and black comedy are missing. One wonders whether the writer understands or appreciates the source material.

Even for those who are not fans of fantasy, Pratchett’s easily accessible style and clever comedy make his novels a real pleasure to read.

A little different from Stephen Chow’s other titles but a solid horror comedy. Visually dark with effective use of sets/locations.

Plotting is a little clumsy in parts but still a sufficiently intriguing and captivating psychological horror. Solidly produced. Mostly looks good.

A form of the superhero genre with “immortal” warriors. Tries too hard with action and grit, so it just comes across as bland cheese. Meh.

Afterlife and judgement psychological thriller. Visually solid. Mildly intriguing initially but not particularly gripping. Overall, tries a bit too hard.
