Study: Increase of COVID-19 Vaccination Rate Associated with COVID-19 Death Rates

A pre-print study posted on 25 November 2022 titled “Global COVID-19 Pandemic Outcomes: Dissecting a Failed Strategy” by James A. Thorp et al found, amongst other things, that “[i]ncreasing rates of COVID-19 vaccination are associated with increase COVID-19 death rates per country population (p=0.002).”

The study includes data from 108 countries, collected by 21 September 2022. I think the date range for the data should be explicitly stated for the sake of clarity. More importantly, although it may be arguably outside the scope of the study, including all-cause mortality in the analysis may provide a more complete view.

Nonetheless, Table 2 and Table 3 (reproduced below) is quite telling, showing the higher COVID-19 death rates corresponding to higher vaccination rate, testing rate and healthcare expenses.
