Hollywood, CA – The trailer for the upcoming Mortal Kombat live-action film was released on Friday and it has been revealed that Emperor Palpatine initially auditioned for the role of Raiden.
“Whilst we respect the emperor’s superb acting skills and considerable experience, we felt he was not suitable in terms of how the character is usually depicted in the franchise,” said Mr Delia, the casting director. “So we went with someone else.”
Emperor Palpatine’s office commented: “We understand that the emperor is probably too old and too white for the role, but we also thought that his ability to generate lightning and to dash across the screen, despite his age, would nonetheless be valuable… I mean, Scarlett Johansson was in Ghost in the Shell and that was supposedly ok.”
