It is common for Chinese PLAAF aircraft to enter Taiwanese ADIZ. but they have been particularly busy on October 1 and 2. I don’t know what the record is but this is certainly the highest I have noticed recently, national holidays or not.
On October 1, two incursions:
13 aircraft in total – 10 J-16s, 2 H-6s, 1 KJ-500.
25 aircraft in total – 18 J-16s, 4 SU-30s, 2 H-6s, 1 Y-8.
On October 2, two incursions:
20 aircraft in total – 14 J-16s, 4 SU-30s, 2 Y-8s.
19 aircraft in total – 12 J-16s, 6 SU-30s, 1 KJ-500.
On October 3:
16 aircraft in total – 8 J-16s, 4 SU-30s, 2 Y-8s, 2 KJ-500s.
On October 4, two incursions:
52 aircraft in total – 34 J-16s, 2 SU-30s, 12 H-6s, 2 Y-8s, 2 KJ-500s.
4 aircraft in total – 4 J-16s.
As expected, Taiwan’s Foreign Minister Joseph Wu has practically said that they would be ready to go to war (without actually using those words).
