Film ● Mini-Review: Taken 2

Updated: Jan 19

Title: Taken 2

Director(s): Olivier Megaton

Screenwriter(s): Robert Mark Kamen & Luc Besson

Released: 2012

Runtime: 1h 31m

● This time, the ex-wife Lenore (Famke Janssen) is taken so Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) allows himself to be taken as well. This is because the father of one of the Albanians he killed in the first film is not happy.

● As predicted, it’s more of the same but given the tight structure and short runtime, it works well enough. It is good to see the roles reversed with Kim (Maggie Grace) escaping and helping Bryan out.

● Overall, not a bad follow-up, not just in terms of the production and the action but also that the plot addresses the consequences of the first film.
